Sound Healing

Hi Friends!

Welcome to my very first blog post. I can’t believe this website is live and I’m now a “blogger.” I thought it would be fitting that my first post be about Sound Healing. I don’t always get to make this spiel during my classes and I know there are always so many questions about why you feel or experience certain emotions/thoughts during a Sound Bath. Hopefully this will give you a better understanding of what this beautiful practice is all about.

Sound healing is the practice of using different sounds to improve your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. I experienced my first Sound Bath in Bali and immediately I felt the transformation and knew it was something I had to share in my classes.

Generally, a sound bath is a meditative experience where one is “bathed” in sound waves. Such instruments can include Singing Bowls, Chimes, and Gongs. When you immerse yourself in a sound bath and focus your attention on what you hear, your brain waves slow down. They go from a more active state (beta) to a more relaxed (alpha) or even dream-like state (theta). The sounds offered during the session are an invitation to immerse yourself in a deeper state of consciousness, an opportunity to balance out your energy centers (chakras) and fully drop into the present moment.

Resonance is the frequency at which an object vibrates most naturally. We are all vibrating beings - with that being said, our bodies automatically resonates to sound. Alchemical Crystal Singing Bowls are made of pure quartz, mixed with crystals, semi-precious or precious stones, minerals, and precious metals. They have been crafted to produce a unique sound (specific note) and have incredible transformative properties. Each note is linked to an energy center or chakra. By playing each bowl or all of them simultaneously creates a certain healing/cleansing vibration to take place.
